Dan HENDRYCKS

Dan Hendrycks is the Executive Director of the Center for AI Safety (CAIS), where he leads research and policy efforts focused on reducing risks from advanced artificial intelligence. In 2023, he was appointed AI safety advisor to Elon Musk’s xAI, a role he holds independently with a symbolic $1 salary and no equity.

He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked on machine learning and AI safety research.
